Description
I’ve been working on improving motion capture setup and just finished designing and printing a custom 3D-printed cage for the OBSBOT MEET 2 camera, made specifically to integrate with facial mocap helmets.
This cage isn’t just a simple mount — it features a mechanical pan and tilt system that I designed from scratch, allowing smooth and adjustable camera positioning directly on the helmet. It makes it much easier to fine-tune the camera angle for perfect facial tracking without needing to reprint or modify the setup each time.
🔧 Features:
This design makes facial mocap setups more flexible and ergonomic — perfect for indie animators, VTubers, or anyone building a DIY mocap rig.
This design consists of five printed parts and requires a few standard hardware components for assembly: one M3 short insert, one M4 medium insert, an M3 screw with a knob, and a standard M4 screw (a matching printed knob is included in the design). The two swivel tubes can be super-glued together for added stability.
For best results, I recommend printing in PETG for its flexibility and durability, though PLA also performs very well and produces an even stiffer structure. The model is designed to be printed with no infill, relying on its geometry for maximum strength and rigidity.
