Festive Lamppost

EDIT..  Ive made the Merry Christmas Pane 0.3mm thinner as i know some of you found it a little tight.

This is the Makerworld version of my festive lamppost. which is approx 140cm tall

 

i made sure it fits on a 256x256x256 build plate. not suitable for the mini as scaling will knock all the tolerances out and you wont have enough room center pole for usb power.

 

if your on a P1S or X1C youll know there is a corner on the build plate that is not printable giving a beyond the bondry error. you will need to scale the model down to fit your build plate. the tolerance should be ok for this to happen.

 

There is also aversion with additional parts for subs of patreon, thangs, and tribes to make the lamp taller and with additional pane designs as well as some other bits.

if using the p1s profile you must print all parts with this profile as its scaled slight differently

 

its fairly straight forward. 

 

This version has the base and 4 post parts which are threaded and screw together.

Screw to top main into place onto post part 4.

the gold decoration labelled post to main lamp just clips in place with the flat edge to the lamp main.

the cylinder has a spiral exactly the length of a 1m strip light. 

wrap the strip light around the cylinder. you can go either way from bottom to top or top to bottom and run the cable down the pole if not using a battery pack.

Ive chosen a strip light that can be battery powered for my print. should you choose the same ive added a shelf in the top to store the battery pack.

should you want to power from the mains ive added two exit points for the cable. one in post part 4 with accompanying cable holder which is the only part that needs supports. and the other in the base if you have a cable long enough.

 

next add the panes. the included panes are etched on the reverse with a decreased thickness so the design appears lighter. For the panes i have used bambu basic white. it has decent transparency.

after all four panes are in add the lamp main top. and then add to top to that.

finally add the 4 gold decorations to the top.

everything prints without supports apart from the cable holder with is pre supported in the 3mf.

filaments used are Bambu maroon red, basic bronze and white

 

0.2 layer, the infill you can do what you want really. some of the larger parts you may want less. but i would say add more where there are connecting pieces. so ive left it at around 10%.

 

the led light strip i used was from amazon at about £5 which has a battery pack, can use the mains and changes if needed, colour etc. they are readily available. you can cut strips but to make it easy the cylinders are for 1m or 2 m lengths. you can also use the 1m strip light from Bambu. you will however need aUSB extension to run the cable out to power as they tend to be fairly short.
