Mitutoyo Vernier Caliper case Over-Engineered

This is a Overengineered waterproof and shockproof Mitutoyo Vernier calliper case that i designed to protect my vernier callipers in my tool bag as i lost the hard-shell case for it and thought i could make some improvements anyway. it can also be used as a protective hard shell case for other items if you do not print the inserts as the internal size is 236x86.5x30 mm

It features ;

• a Hard shell case
• Double satisfying click latches to keep it closed securely
• Robust hinges
• Soft TPU shock resistant moulded inserts to hold the vernier caliper and a optional sharpie slot
• a Optional TPU gasket to make the case waterproof

it requires 6 X m03X16 mm cap head screws for assembly

(i can design a variant that doesn't use any screws and uses filament for hinges instead upon request however it wouldn't be as strong)

I decided to print the case in PETG as its a bit more shock resistant and hardwearing on the latches than PLA however it can be printed in whatever thermoplastic of your choice#

the TPU gasket to make the case waterproof is optional and would still work without it however it only takes 15 minutes to print so you may as well print it 

The TPU moulded inserts are for shock absorption to protect the verniers, however you could print them in PLA just you would have to change the number top shell layers and potentially scale and reduce the size of the insert by ~0.5mm in X and Y to allow a desired fit for the inserts if they was to be printed in PLA or similar ( i could design the PLA inserts upon request)
