Parametric EDC pocket case

I put a lot of effort in to make this model parametric and many changes were made, at the base I tried to imitate the previous model in it's basic function.

Assembly Instructions

1. Adjust the Models dimensions to your desire
2. Seperate the parts in Bambustudio by right clicking the model and selecting split to objects
3. Print the lid and the box.
4. cut a piece of filament (1.75mm diameter) at to the correct length
5. assemble the lid and the box
6. slide the cut piece of filament into the hinge

Explanation

My idea was to make a small pocket box, but I wanted it with a hinge.

So I had to find a way to create a tiny hinge and still keep it accessible by avoiding any external hardware, thats when I thought of using a piece of filament for this.

Some people asked for a parametric version of this model, I took me some time to rework the whole model from scratch but a month later; here it is, you can now adjust height, width and length to your desire.

Variations

• Tight lid → more secure and tight close between lid and box, but harder to open and close.
• Loose lid → practical when opened often since it is easier to open, but less secure.
