Description
My first attempt at making a statue of my dog. We have an absolute teddy bear of a dog named Bentley who is a Bernedoodle. While technically his coloring is considered one of the less desirable colorings for Bernedoodle, we think he's perfect. I started with a photo of Bentley and converted that photo into a cartoonish image of him just to simplify the coloring somewhat, I then uploaded to MakerWorld's Image-to-3D tool to create a statue out of it. The initial attempt left out his tail so I had to make several adjustments there, and then I adjusted it down to 4 colors and then added a fifth color in White and then using the 5 colors adjusted the painting a little to match his actual coloring. Overall I think it turned out great.
Keep in mind it will take a long time to print, and will have a lot of filament waste due to the number of color changes on it. I printed 6 of them at 50% but in .16 quality settings, and it took around 15 hours. At 100% with a single print using the uploaded settings it takes around 23 hours.
I used the following colors all from Bambu Labs:
PLA Matte - Desert Tan
PLA Matte - Charcoal
PLA Matte - Caramel
PLA Basic - Cocoa Brown
PLA Basic - Jade White
