Sharing Pistachio Bowl

Following my recent home-decor-focused designs, I'm excited to share a new piece that is both a stylish object and hopefully a clever solution to a common problem: the messy pistachio shell pile.

Introducing the "Vinyl Groove" Pistachio Bowl

If you're like me, you love pistachios, but you don't love the clutter of empty shells that quickly builds up. I wanted to design a solution that hides the mess, leaving your table clean and stylish. This two-part bowl system is the result.

My Design Process & Inspiration

My inspiration for this bowl's aesthetic came from my love of moulded vinyl records. I wanted to capture that distinct, grooved texture and the gentle, organic wave of a record that's been warmed and shaped.

This wavy, flowing rim isn't just for looks; it creates the perfect spout for the inner bowl, allowing you to easily discard shells into the outer bowl.

Key Features

• Clever Two-Part Design: A top bowl for your fresh pistachios (or olives, dates, cherries, etc.) and a larger, matching outer bowl to catch and hide the discarded shells.
• Elegant & Tidy: When nested, the inner bowl sits cleanly on top, completely concealing the empty shells below. No mess, no fuss!

• Vinyl-Inspired Aesthetic: The deep grooves and undulating rim create a unique, tactile piece that looks fantastic as a standalone decorative bowl.

   

Printing & Material Tips

This is a larger print, but the results are well worth it.

• Materials: The samples in the photos were printed in Bambu PLA Matte Charcoal, PLA-CF, and PLA Wood.
• Print Time: Approximately 10 hours.
• Filament Usage: Uses about 200 grams of filament for both pieces.
• Supports: No supports needed

• Recommended Settings: To get the best possible quality, I recommend to slow down for overhangs. It should be set that way in the print profile this is in case it's set to default.

This is the great item for snacking or when entertaining guests. I'm really happy with how it turned out and I hope you enjoy having this stylish, functional piece in your home.
