retroSix Game Gear Speaker Rings Custom Left/Right

This model was inspired by the original design found here on Thingiverse, but it’s been redesigned and fine-tuned for real-world fitment inside SEGA Game Gear shells.

While the original model works great for the right-side speaker, the left side of the Game Gear shell has a slightly different internal height and shape — which often causes fitment or alignment issues when installing upgraded speakers or modded sound boards.

To fix that, this version introduces a custom left-speaker mount, specifically adjusted for:

🎧 Upgraded stereo speaker mods (such as RetroSix CleanAmp or similar dual-speaker upgrades)

🔩 A flush, secure fit that keeps the speaker snug without rattling

⚙️ Accurate alignment with the speaker grill for optimal audio clarity

You can print the right and left mounts in standard PLA, PETG, or ABS (whichever suits your project).

🔧 Supports: Not required (both pieces print cleanly on flat surfaces!)

💬 Notes from the Maker

I designed this updated left speaker mount after encountering repeated fitment challenges while restoring VA0, VA1, VA4, and VA5 Game Gears with the modern retroSix audio mod. The original right-side design fit beautifully — but the left needed extra adjustment to sit level and clear the internal structure.

This revised model corrects that perfectly, creating a balanced and professional stereo sound setup worthy of your restoration project.
