Captain Moroni (different from the other moroni I've posted) was one of the great military and spiritual leaders from the Book of Mormon. 

Around 74 BC, as internal conflict and invasion threatened his people’s freedom, Moroni tore his own cloak and inscribed upon it “In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children.” He raised this banner—called the Title of Liberty—and rallied the Nephite nation to defend their faith and families.
