WL Toys 2428 Vevor 24th Scale Crawler Battery Tray

The WL Toys 2428 Crawler, also known as the Vevor 24th scale crawler, is a pretty cheap (when it's on sale) mini crawler. I got one for my son to get him into the hobby, but to be honest, I should have gotten a cheap scx24 or fcx24 or cr18p, even if it's double the price, those are just better and have aftermarket upgrade support, and better options for drivetrain upgrades, which this doesn't. 

But that's besides the point, I have it, so the only way to upgrade it really is to custom make parts! Firstly, the battery spot is stupid, so I made another one that better holds the battery. Then I made a second extended one, that works if you remove the scale interior, which is annoying and makes the truck hard to close, and gives you wayyyyy better battery options, especially given that this thing chews through battery life!

It uses the same mounting hole, and you can put a small screw through one of the other holes to keep it from rotating. I screwed tiny screws from the inside, so that the pointy part of the screw doesn't pierce the battery. I also just put a pair of rubber bands through the slots to hold the battery down.
