  • The Main Tray has 4 embedded magnet slots (6mm diameter) in each corner to hold the clear plastic cover securely.
  • An Edge Slipcover (frame) snaps over the clear plastic sheet, providing a clean finish and adding 4 more embedded magnet slots in its corners for extra holding power and a satisfying click.
• Clear Viewing: Designed to be used with a thin, clear plastic sheet (not included, see "Additional Materials") that covers the compartments, allowing you to see your collection without exposing it to dust or spills.
• Print-in-Place / Minimal Assembly: The main tray prints as one piece. The edge slipcover prints separately and easily snaps on.
• Versatile Storage: Perfect for geology specimens, jewelry components, craft supplies, small screws, game pieces, or any tiny collectibles.

🛠️ Assembly & Additional Materials Required:

1. 🧲 Magnets: You will need 8 x 6mm diameter round magnets 
   • 4 magnets for the corners of the Main Tray.
   • 4 magnets for the corners of the Edge Slipcover.
2. 🪟 Clear Plastic Sheet: A thin piece of clear plastic (e.g., acrylic, PETG sheet, or even a cut-up blister pack/clamshell packaging) that fits over the top of the compartments 211mm x 211mm. This acts as the viewing window and item retainer. 
   1. See below for what I used for my clear plastic.
3. 🛠️Assembly Steps:
   • Print the Main Tray and Edge Slipcover.
   • Insert the 4 magnets into the Main Tray's corner slots (using superglue is recommended).
   • Insert 4 magnets into the Edge Slipcover corner slots(using superglue is recommended).
     • Ensure polarities are opposite between main tray and slipcover.
   • Place your clear plastic sheet over the compartments.
   • Carefully snap the Edge Slipcover into place around the clear plastic, The 4 magnets should hold the plastic in place and keep everything from falling out.

💡 Tips for Usage:

• Lay the Tray flat when pulling the slipcover off.
• Pull slipcover and plastic off to place an item in a compartment.  Don't forget to put plastic and slipcover back on.
• Use double sided tape to stick to walls.
• It will stand on its own but will tip over quite easily. So, when placing on a shelf, lean it back or use some museum gum to stick it down.
• Consider printing the tray in a light color (white, light grey) to make your items pop, or a dark color for contrast.
• Use a fine-tip marker to label the clear plastic or the edges of the tray for easy identification of your collection!
• Shine a light behind the tray (if printed in light color) to make the tray appear to glow.

One of the clear plastic pieces I used was from a grocery store plastic container (aka. clamshell packaging). I just had to buy something that came in a larger clear plastic container. Something similar to this:

The top piece just has to be big enough to cover the model (211mm x 211mm).

If there are labels on the plastic, I recommend using a gentle sponge with warm water and soap.

Anything too aggressive may scratch or scuff the plastic. (I tried Isopropyl Alcohol, and it left a hazy area on one attempt)

For another print of this display, I used an adhesive clear plastic sheet that was for protecting furniture from cat scratching.
