Description
Created by request! A commenter on my KPOP Demon Hunters Mini Notebooks suggested that the “Hello Friend” card Derpy delivers to Rumi would make a cute notebook cover. I agree!
This is a new cover design for the notebook collection I previously posted on MakerWorld. Specific features include:
For more information about the design of these notebooks, please check out Notebook / Journal Collection - Multiple Sizes.
The models are printed without supports. The hinge clips need to be printed vertically, and painted mouse ear brims have been added to improve adhesion. If you are worried about them dislodging during the print, you can change them to full brims, but note that this will be more tedious to remove from the interior edges of the clip.
The back cover on plate 2 uses five colors, so there is a pause command that provides the opportunity to manually swap filaments when the blue is finished.
Note that the front cover only uses four colors, so these steps are not necessary for the other two plates.
These mini notebooks will fit a small stack of half letter paper (5 ½ x 8 inches). If you only have standard letter paper, then you can simply cut it in half. Either way, the stack should then be folded to form a booklet. The notebooks should also work fine with A5 paper (or A4 paper cut in half) if you trim away 8mm in width so that it is approximately 140x210mm.
To assemble, attach the hinges to the cover, then align them with spine hinges and run a piece of filament through the holes. Detailed assembly instructions can be found in the included PDF.
My example print used the following filaments:
Please note that I do not recommend using silk PLA on the binding or hinge clips, because is it structurally weak compared to other forms of PLA.
