A simple drip tray insert to solve a countertop headache, especially when people are getting ice back to back at gatherings or on hot summer days. After scooping ice, leftover droplets can run off the holder and drip onto the counter. This tray sits on the counter directly beneath the Frigidaire Gallery ice scoop holder and catches those droplets before they escape. The basin is intentionally shallow so small amounts of water spread out and evaporate faster, keeping things clean without needing to empty it every time.
Why I made it
- Stop water drops from reaching the counter
- Keep the holder working exactly the same
- Use a shallow basin so small puddles evaporate quickly
Design notes
- Mirrored footprint of the scoop holder for a cohesive, full-coverage fit without overhangs
- Smooth interior for quick rinse and dry
What’s included
- Seven tray depths: 2 mm, 4 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm
- 2/4/8/10/12 mm are low profile for fast evaporation and easy placement (generally not suitable for Command Strips)
- 15/20 mm are taller specifically to accommodate Command Strips or thin double-sided tape; any extra capacity is incidental
Install & use
- Place the tray on the counter directly beneath the scoop holder.
- Optional (15/20 mm only): Apply thin Command Strips or double-sided tape to the back of the tray and press it onto the ice maker wall/panel beneath the holder. Clean and dry the surface first, ensure it sits level and doesn’t interfere with drawers/rails, and allow the adhesive time to set.
