The Modern Nutcracker (No AMS, No Glue!)

Hey everyone!

I've been working on my own spin on the classic nutcracker, but made it super friendly for 3D printing. I wanted a cool display piece, so I skipped the actual cracking function and went for a more modern style.

The best part about this model is how easy it is to print, even if you want the full-color look. Seriously, I designed this thing to print in separate pieces, which means you don't need an AMS or any complex color changes mid-print. You simply swap your filament for each section—like the hat, jacket, and pants—and then everything is ready for assembly. And speaking of assembly, you can put the whole thing together without touching a glue stick! Everything is designed to fit together nice and snuggly for a clean, secure finish.

You also have a couple of size options depending on what you're aiming for. The big, multi-color profile stands about 350mm tall, making him a real statement piece. But if you just need something quick and simple, there's a smaller, single-color profile that's around 255mm.

It’s been a blast to design, and I think it looks awesome in the classic red, black, and natural wood tones. If you’re looking for a fun print with a high-impact, finished result—especially with the holidays coming up—give this a go! Let me know what colors you try!

Be careful with the angle when pushing the pieces together, i've had to reprint some parts because i accidentally snapped a connector.
