Slot car Control Tower

Hi everyone!! thanks for the support on my other models! this new one is my version based of the Carrera control tower, there are 2 options for the front main glass in the file for transparent PETG window or a more traditional PLA frame and black window inserts. I personally used transparent PETG windows for the side door but the can be switched to black too. The right overhead ramp and the stairs can be mirrored in the slicer and print for the other side.

 

Take note of the build plates I use, I use the textured PEI  to match the similar texture of the track and the cool plate super tack because I like the smoother finish and strong adhesion.

 

The side holes of the base are designed to fit standard Carrera track and one of my models track side track pieces.

 

The overhead ramp is a bit challenging to print without warping, my print profile is using brim options + different infill technique, I have also manually stop the cooling and reduced speed of the first layers, seems its not saving in my print profile, careful with that one, mine came out great at the end. There are also some support to remove from under for the mounting rail, it's quite easy easy to remove.

 

The whole main room center area is design not to use any support, as shown in the print profile.

 

For the bridge side banner, I provide also a blank one, I will try to produce additional soon.

 

All the holes on the roof and flags are 3mm diameter, I personally used "qtips" and scrape off  both fluffy ends tips as mounting poles.

 

PS, the little fella on the ramp is not mine, I got it from another user here on maker world, file under the name of  “slot car driver”, scale  for need to be adjusted for a 60 mm height.
