Description
As with a lot of the Mjolnir models out there, they all share some similarities. I tried to trace this back to an original as the one listed. This is a hammer painted in the the colors of The Ohio State University. The panels have the appropriate colors and the handle is painted to look as if it is received into the hammer head with the same color. The changes came in the addition of stronger infill where the handle meets the hammer and the addition of the Athletic “O”. The biggest change was in the “medallion” at the top of the hammer. Instead of a solid color, it is now inlaid with lyrics from The Ohio State Fight Song, “Buckeye Battle Cry” as well as a recreation of the buckeye helmet award given to the football players for their helmets. I printed in Inland Filaments. True Red and Light grey for everything except the medallion. In the medallion I used Silk Silver (to represent the helmets, hence the buckeye award), True Green, Black and White. For the best results for no stringing on the overhangs, I used supports with a PETG interface. I tried once with and once without. It made a difference. I also changed the print orientation of the handle compared to others and it saved a ton on the supports. One last thing, I printed all of the model on the smooth high temp plate, except for the medallion. I switched to the textured PEI plate because I liked the appearance it gave. Thanks for taking the time to check out this model.
