Description
This is a diorama with Santa Claus moving in his sleigh pulled by reindeer along a circular path.
Santa Claus in his sleigh moves without any apparent constraint on the base.
In fact, thanks to a gear system: pinion and crown gear, by manually rotating the small gear (pinion) that protrudes from the
diorama's base, Santa Claus in his sleigh will move on the diorama's base along a circular trajectory around the Christmas tree
thanks to a magnetic movement system present in the large gear (crown gear)
Does not require AMS
Attention: for the project to function correctly, it requires at least 4 magnets 10mmx3mm for the gear (max 8 magnets), 2 magnets 10mmx3mm for sleigh and reindeer, and 1 magnet 8mmx2mm for Santa.
Total: at least 6 magnets 10mmx3mm (max 10), 1 magnet 8mmx2mm
In the .3mf project, there are 8 plates, each dedicated to a components of the same color to be printed without AMS.
In any plates that has model that requires magnets, pauses have been inserted to allow manual insertion of the magnets.
In the large gear, there are 8 cavities for inserting as many 10mmx3mm magnets, but if you do not have all the magnets,
the diorama can still function by placing at least 4 magnets in the large gear.
In the sleigh, reindeer and Santa models there are cavity to insert one magnet in each, which are essential for allowing circular movement.
Attention this Santa Claus Diorama is completely compatible with another my project: Diorama of a train rotating crossing the mountain that you can find here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1973344-diorama-of-a-train-rotating-crossing-the-mountain#profileId-2122072
If you have just downloaded it, you can reuse base, gears and top cover from the other project, means that in this case you do not need
to print the plates 6, 7 and 8.

Assembly should proceed with the following steps
1 Print the plate with small and large gears (inserting the magnets during the pause)
2 Print the plate with the gear base
3 Insert the gears into the base and check for movement
4 Print the plate with the gear cover
5 Insert the gear cover over the base with the gears inside, being careful to position the “V” on the
plate in correspondence with the small gear, and by interlocking the four hooks on the bottom of the cover
into the slots along the outer edge of the base containing the gears
6 Print the plate with the diorama base and the trees
7 Position the diorama base on the gear cover, being careful to align the existing holes and insert
the 3 small lateral trees into the corresponding 3 holes on the base. In this way, the gear cover and the diorama base
become integral.
8 Print the mountain
9 Interlock the two holes on the bottom of the mountain with the two cylindrical protrusions on the diorama base (see photos)
10 Print the base of the house
11 Interlock the two holes on the bottom of the house with the two remaining cylindrical protrusions on the diorama base (both on the outer part and aligned)
12 Print the roof of the house
13 Interlock the hole on the top of the house with the cylindrical protrusion on the down face in the roof.
14 Insert the house on the two cylindrical protrusions in the border of the diorama base (see photos)
15 Print the center Christmas tree
16 Print the star for the top of the Christmas tree and insert it on the top of the tree.
17 Insert the Christmas tree on the cylindrical protrusions in the center of the diorama base
18 Print the Snowman and insert it in the cylindrical protrusions in the border of the diorama base (see photos)
19 Print the sleigh, inserting the magnet 10mmx3mm during the pause
20 Print the reindeer, inserting the magnet 10mmx3mm during the pause
21 Print the Santa, inserting the magnet 8mmx2mm during the pause
22 You have finished!!!
Operate the small pinion protruding from the base to see the Santa Claus moving in his sleigh pulled by reindeer along a circular path :)
