At long last, the door customizer is here!
After releasing The Ultimate DND Players Tray I was flooded with people asking for all sorts of variations on what stats would be tracked. It was always my plan to release different door covers for different things, but I was not prepared for the sheer number of players who loved the players tray but had ideas that would make it better for them. I got requests for:
Language translations in Spanish, Portugese, Italian, and German
Adaptations for other games, like Pathfinder, Daggerheart and some other games I'd honestly never even heard of
Different covers for different DND classes (sorcery points for sorcerers, bardic insp. for bards and so on and so forth)
There were so many combinations and unique variants that it became clear that I just would not be able to keep up with the community needs, and so I needed a more adaptable solution that lets you, the user change the covers into whatever you want them to be. With that I set out to learn openSCAD just so that I could create a way for anyone to create almost anything you can want.
Features
All text is customizable, headers, each cell text, everything. Put whatever stats you want, add your character name, add your class, whatever you can dream of
Each cell (individual window) can be customized to fit as many wheels in it as you want, simply specify how many click wheels you want in that window and the customizer will adapt the window width to meet it. If you don't want a window in a certain place, simply set the wheel number to be 0 for that item.
Customizable font sizes! Make your text bigger or smaller to suit your needs. Fair warning: going too small will make the profile very difficult to print
Choose whether its a left door or a right door: this will give the appropriate notch cut outs to help it fit.
Choose your text height, make it taller or shorter to fit your needs
Choose whether you want raise or inset text
Updates
Can now split the window into multiple windows (for instance STR can have 2 wheels for score and 2 wheels for modifier)
Can now set a window span, so a window can be wider than just a single slot
Can now set the text width per window to enable spacing for spell slots.
Final Notes
OpenSCAD is difficult, and I'm by no means an expert in it, so while I always want to hear your feedback, and want to know what features you want to see, I can't guarantee responsiveness due to it just being more time consuming to making models fully out of code, so keep that in mind if updates don't happen as rapidly as they do with traditional CAD modelling.
I was so honored by how many people enjoyed my work enough to want to adapt it to their own, and I look forward to seeing what you all come up with this. Please share pictures of your creations, nothing makes me happier than seeing my work in the hands of real people.
