Description
The Vortice Lamp is a unique spiral style shade 3d printed lamp designed at Dryft Home and now you can make your own version in your home. If you can't print one yourself and you're in Canada or USA consider supporting us at https://www.dryfthome.com.
Inspired by the swirling motion of a fast-moving storm, the Vortice shade creates a soft, even glow — perfect for a desk, reading nook, nightstand, or anywhere you want a small, warm light. Like all of our lamps, it’s fully 3D printed and works with either of our two bases (Ridge or Peak).
Print instructions are important for getting a clean, consistent result, especially due to the rounded globe shape. Please follow the settings closely. These are Orca Slicer profiles, but they can be replicated easily in most slicers. Don’t forget: the Vortice shade needs increased line width and adaptive layer height. In Bambu Studio you need to implement scarf seams in filament settings if you are using a different filament for the bases.
For the 40mm lock washer, print in flexible filament. We use 95A TPU, 10% infill, 1 wall loop, 3 upper and 3 lower walls.
To assemble the lamp, you’ll need a cord. We recommend a cord about 6 ft long with an inline rocker switch about 1.5–2 ft from the socket. The socket must be 40mm wide with a threaded base, as shown in the photos. We normally use a cord with an E26 standard bulb base and a US/CA plug. Use LED bulbs only to avoid heat buildup — 9W or less recommended.
You can easily find lamp cords online, but if you want the exact one we use, it’s available here:

If you’d rather skip printing and receive a finished lamp, the Cumulis Table Lamp is available here:

The Vortice shade also works beautifully as a pendant light. You’ll need a pendant cord with a 40mm threaded E26 socket and a ceiling canopy. These are widely available online, but if you’d like the exact one we use, you can find it here:
