Candice the Crusty Coronavirus

This is Candice, the Crusty Coronavirus!  Yes, it's five years too late, but it is super fun to play with!

 

It is basically Sammy the Flexi Sea Urchin, with the addition of red spike proteins.  Shout out to user Marolf5 for the idea, thanks!

 

Those of you who commented that Sammy was the best fidget ever, are going to be blown away by this one, as it's even more tactile!

 

Please note this is a challenging print, requiring good bed adhesion, a well calibrated printer and filament, and good layer adhesion.  The spike proteins wont survive long if your layer adhesion is poor.  The spikes are obviously a weak point having such a small cross-section, but that said, I've dropped mine on carpet from about four feet, will no ill effects.

 

I recommend printing in Bambu Lab PLA Basic; silk filaments at least tend to have poorer layer adhesion in my experience.

 

Assembly instructions: Candice is assembled in exactly the same way as Sammy, so please follow the assembly instructions here.  The only caveat is that you should use the provided pliers for all connections; if you try to just use your fingers you're sure to snap a few spike proteins.
