Minecraft Wither Storm!

MODEL UPDATE (13 OCT 2025)

Hello everyone! I had actually forgotten about this neat guy until my son was recently playing with it again. I have decided to completely overhaul the model in an effort to make it a little more print friendly, cut the print time and eliminate some of the supports. Unfortunately there really isn't a great way to get around the supports. It's a really, really oddly shaped model. In the end, I was able to reduce the amount of support material needed in addition to making the removal experience a bit less labor intensive, hehe…

Putting together the new model should be easier to figure out. Just match the numbers on the heads and jaws to the matching number on the body. There is no set way to attach the tentacles. Stick however many you want where ever you want. When these spawn in the game, the tentacles are always different sizes and in different places. There's no right or wrong way to put them on.

Remember that this is a fairly large model. I have Lightning selected as the infill for the main body in an effort to keep the print time and overall material usage down to a minimum. It has worked just fine for the model I printed for my son a while back, but if you feel you need more strength, I highly recommend using Adaptive Cubic infill set to roughly 15%. Your mileage will vary.

The Wither Storm!!! My son really wanted this version of the wither storm from Minecraft, but there really aren't many models out there. So, I put together what I had and added some tentacles. There was no good way to print both the main body and the tentacles all in place without making it look goofy. So, the different size tentacles are meant to just be glued onto the body after printing.

I know the tentacles all look the same, but they're all different sizes.

Pretty much none of this is actually my design. I didn't design the Wither Storm and I didn't design the tentacles. Unfortunately, I have no idea who to attribute any of the work to as they were files I downloaded a long time ago and can no longer find. So to whomever made these, thank you for making this possible! This is dedicated to you!

EDIT 1 -> Fixed the tentacles not sitting perfectly flat on the build surface.
EDIT 2 -> Updated the main body for easier printing. The main body is now separate from the heads and jaws. I also closed up some small holes and crevices that support material loved to get stuck in. Now it should be easier to paint or multicolor print!
