Original Description
There are many printable filament brackets, but I was never satisfied with their strength. I noticed there are many cheap metal wall brackets online, so I decided to bring the 2 together.
This model is a ‘sleeve’ that slides over an 8" metal wall bracket. Since the strength comes from the bracket, this print is very filament efficient while supporting 16+ spools easily. I wanted to span 4ft without any center supports, so it is designed to take a 1.25" dowel, mine is hardwood and has 0 flex across the 4ft with 16 spools on it.
A1 Mini support!
Features:
- Much strength because metal
- No supports!
- Bambu Studio does complain about an unsupported overhang, but it's okay. It will only result in a bit of spaghetti inside the model. Minor cleanup around the screw holes at most.
- Extremely filament efficient - Each bracket is only 43g and has 6 walls!
- The spools will not touch the wall, and they will not touch the brackets.
- Easily extended for wider than 4' shelves

How to Assemble:
- Print 2 copies of the model, or more for longer than a 4 ft span
- Mount metal brackets to the wall
- Insert 1.25" dowel into printed sleeves
- Slide printed sleeves over the metal brackets
- Put at least 1 wood screw up through the sleeve and bracket into a dowel on each support using one of the holes in the model. This keeps the sleeve from sliding off the bracket. I would recommend pre-drilling through the bracket into the dowel to help keep the wood from splitting.
I used PETG for a bit of flex, but PLA would likely work fine too.
