Christmas Tree with Lights & Star Wand

This Christmas Tree with Star Wand is adding a little more magic to the Christmas Season 🎄 Let your little ones put the lights on the tree and then wave the wand in front of the lights to magically (magnetically) turn them on.  The wand has a light in it too - when you wave it behind the tree it will turn on or off.  The Star Wand also doubles as a Pass-Thru fidget with a loose column that slides up and down the wand shaft. When you are done with the wand, insert it into the tree. It will twist down until it gets to the star leaving it sitting on top🌟 To take the light bulbs out of the tree, rotating levers are designed into the back of the tree to help ‘pop’ them out. I designed two different styles of tree skirts for you to choose from also:)

Important: You will need (7) Single LED Magnetic Control Switch Lights and (2) 8x2mm Neodymium magnets for this print

(each light comes with a 8x2mm neodymium magnet so you do not need to buy any magnets). These are the lights that you need:

Note: These come in 5 colors: white, blue, red, warm white and green. I recommend either buying all white (or warm white) and printing the bulbs in different colors OR buy two red, two green and two blue and print the bulbs in white PLA. (The colored lights shine really nice thru the white filament.)

PLA works great 

Layer Height 0.2mm

15% Infill

Supports needed for tree and trunk

Brim needed for Twisty Wand

 

3D Printing Instructions for Lights Bulbs & Bases:

PLA works great (Translucent PETG is also fun for the Light Bulbs)

Layer Height 0.16mm

15% Infill

No supports needed

Tree 3mf print profile:

Print Plate #1 (Tree): 2 colors, supports added, pause added at layer 17

Print Plate #2 (Trunk): 1 color

Print Plate #3 (Tree Skirt #1): 2 colors

Print Plate #4 (Tree Skirt #2): 2 colors

 

Light Bulb 3mf print profile:

Print Plate #1 (Light Bulbs): 1 color, supports added 

Print Plate #2 (Light Bulb_bases): 1 color

 

Star Wand 3mf Print Profile:

Print Plate #1 (Wand Star Topper): 1 color, supports added to wand star topper, pause added at layer 17, outer brim added to twisty wand

Print Plate #2 (Twisty Wand, Twisty Column, Star End Cap): 1 color, out brim added to twisty wand

 

How to insert the 8x2 neodymium magnet into the Tree and the Star Topper:

Pause the prints at layer 17 (I have inserted a pause in my print profile for both of these), insert the magnet (the orientation of the magnet does not matter) and resume the print.

 

 

How to assemble the Light Bulbs:

After adding the batteries into the LED Light, insert one light into each of the Light Bulb Bases and screw the Light Bulbs onto the bases.

 

How to Assemble the Wand:

After adding the batteries into the LED Light, insert the light into the top of the Twisty wand and then screw on the Star Topper.

 

How to Assemble the Tree:

Screw the trunk onto the tree and screw the tree skirt onto the trunk.
