Description

This is a heavy-duty cable clip for holding cables under desks or tables. Even once it's mounted you can still open it to add or remove cables. It's large so it can hold lots of cables, and can be mounted using either double-sided tape or screws.

It prints without support and only uses 12g of filament. The white version in my photos are printed in basic PLA and have been in use for over 3 years without any issues.

I recommend using strong double-sided tape. I've designed the bracket to comfortably fit 24mm (15/16") wide tape.

The tape I have used is this one, but any strong and slightly thicker double-sided tape should do (the thickness helps with uneven surfaces). 3M VHB is a good choice. Always make sure to clean the surface you want to stick the bracket to with IPA/an alcohol wipe first.

If you want to use screws, the holes are sized for 6G self-tapping or M3 screws.

Note that if you install the the bracket flush against a surface, the clip will open ~15mm. If you open the clip any further it will lever against the bracket and may break it.

I have not tested using this on any vertical surfaces like walls, only under tables but it should work. If you try it on a wall, please let me know how it goes!
