Description

I'm using 42x42 cm heated bed for my Hypercube evolution. Because of the large size the aluminium bed plate get warped badly due to heating and cooling . Aspecially when printed ASA, ABS, Nylon (100 degrees or more). Original brackets don't allow for expending and contracting when bed is heated.

So I decided to design bed mount which will solve this problem.

I was inspired by Ratrig V-Core 3. Using the magnets and ball compensate the movement of the bed plate when heated.

For this mod you will need to order the original Ratrig threaded balls 12mm( 4 pcs.), 4 pcs 20x10x5 magnets with holes and 8 pcs 3x35 dowel pins.

For part assembly follow the Ratrig video: https://ratrig.dozuki.com/Guide/07.+Bed+Assembly/77?lang=en

Because the ball is threaded M5 and the holes in my bed plate where 3mm I decided to use M5 to M3 reducer (see picture).

But you may choose to make the holes bigger and use M5 bolts instead.

I've added stl's for nut wheels (M3 and M7 for the reducer) they help to level the bed correctly and fix the balls in the right positon.

To mount the bracket to the 2020 extrusion use 2 M5 10mm ballheads and t-nuts per bracket (as in the original mount).

I’ve printed it with 0,2 layer height and 50% infill. I‘ve used Extrudr ASA Durapro carbon. Print the bracket upside down with support on the bed only.
