UPDATE 2

I have added another  profile for the H2 series, or just printers that are bigger then the P and A series.

That profile does not need resizing, it is just print and assemble.

And there is another profile for a 180 cm big rocket, made for a big printer, which i sadly does not own.

So i have not tried that one, so just have that in mind.

UPDATE 1

Now with Fusion360 file - i hope they work, it was a little bit weird uploading, please report back if there are any trouble with the file.

Do not try to costumize it without downloading the f3d file for fusion.

Also a guy called 3D-MONIAC has made a quick little video of the model being put together, it is very well made i think

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DUQ1_-QjSBz/?igsh=MXh0NnVwamh2ZHY2YQ==

This is my take on a big Tintin rocket

I have made a smaller one at 70 cm height - https://makerworld.com/en/models/2263611-tintin-70-cm-rocket#profileId-2466707

I have always liked the simplicity of the Tintin rocket, since i read the comics

I started with printing the version made by printchallenge

https://makerworld.com/en/models/82519-tin-tin-rocket#profileId-87962.

It is a very nice model, but not big enough for me, and it is not made to be upscaled

I found another model that should be over 100 cm, but the proportions felt wrong.

So i made my own from scratch.

The total use of filament is 6,3 kg if you use my settings which is 2 walls, and 10% gyroid infill.

See picture below for more precise numbers

It is 150 cm in height.

Apparently there are no real blueprints for the rocket, it is just based on the book, so i based mine from the bookcover below.

Since the rocket is at an angle from the viewing point, it is not 100% accurate, but i am quite happy with it.

One thing i am a very big fan of, is when a model has pins to put them together or some other thing to guide the pieces, so you can´t put them together in a wrong way.

I have put pins in every piece that needed it, so it is a breeze to put together, also i embedded the position in the red/white parts to locate where they belong, starting from the bottom.

So if the piece is R4, it is the second red one from the top, and the W1 is the bottom white one.

There are 3 types of connectors:

The big pin which is for the main body

The smaller pin which is for the dome on the legs

The disc type pin which is for the thin leg itself

For some reason Bambu studio wont let me use a profile where the printing area exceeds 250 in height even though the
P1S can print 256, so i have downscaled the cone for the legs and the nose cone to be below 250 mm in height.

These needs to be scaled back to the original scale.

Also you may need to edit the printer to be able to print a height of 256 mm.

Click where the arrow points to edit the height shown below

Type 256 mm and you should be good to go.

The leg cone should be 100 %, and the nose cone should be 98,7 %, i have attached photos further down to guide you

This is the height it needs to be to work properly

This is the height it needs to be to work properly

I am sorry this has to be so difficult, but i dont know how go around this in any other way

I printed my rocket using Bambu Petg HF in red and white.

If you decide to print this massive beast, i would appreciate your opinion and some pictures.

I dont expect many to print this but i hope some will do it.

And as always if you se a problem or something that needs to be fixed, please tell me right away.

Happy printing
