Description

These are strong, heavy duty ceiling mount bike hangers designed to safely store bicycles overhead by the wheel. The curved hook supports the tire securely while the reinforced arm and wide mounting base distribute load into the structure above, making them ideal for garages, workshops, and storage spaces where floor space matters.

Strength and Durability

These hangers are built to be very durable. The thick cross section and smooth curved hook resist flexing and cracking even under repeated loading. When printed with proper materials and settings, they are suitable for long term bike storage without deformation.

Recommended Print Materials

  • ASA – Excellent choice for garages and unconditioned spaces due to heat and UV resistance
  • ABS – Strong and heat tolerant when printed correctly
  • PETG – Acceptable and easy to print, though slightly more flexible

Do not use PLA unless the hanger is installed in a temperature controlled area. PLA can soften and creep under heat, which may cause failure over time in warm garages.

Mounting Instructions

  • Mount directly into ceiling rafters or wall studs only
  • Use at least 2 inch wood screws for proper engagement into solid wood
  • Use two screws per hanger for maximum strength
  • Place a washer under each screw head to spread the load and help prevent layer splitting
  • Do not overtighten the screws, as excessive force can crush layers or cause cracking

For best results, pre drill pilot holes and tighten screws until snug and flush without forcing them.

Print Recommendations

  • Print in the orientation shown to maximize layer strength along the arm
  • Use 4 or more perimeters and 30 percent or higher infill
  • Avoid lightweight or decorative print profiles
