Description

This 3D model is a precision-designed orb holder created to securely cradle and display a spherical object such as a crystal, glass, or decorative orb. The design features a stable base and smooth, curved supports that hold the orb neatly centered and slightly elevated for an elegant presentation.

The original model is optimized for an orb with a diameter of 16.24 mm, offering a snug and balanced fit. The geometry scales cleanly, allowing you to resize it easily in your slicer for other orb sizes.

Common scaling suggestions include 74% for a 12 mm orb, 86% for a 14 mm orb, 111% for an 18 mm orb, 123% for a 20 mm orb, 154% for a 25 mm orb, and 185% for a 30 mm orb, with the default 16.24 mm design representing 100%.

For reference, my personal print was done at 1000% scale, creating a large, impressive display piece suitable for bigger orbs or as a standalone decorative object.

If your orb size is not listed in the print profiles, you can use this formula to calculate the correct scale for your orb:

Scale (%) = (Orb Diameter in mm ÷ 16.24) × 100

If you create a print profile for a size that isn’t included, consider sharing it so others can benefit from your settings!
