Description
My first work into Hotwheels mods. Â A coworker showed me some of the old very used Hotwheels cars that he had modified. Â My thought went to what could I print. Â For $1 I bought a mystery car to see how it would go. Â This one just looked like it needed to be lifted. Â The tires are press fit to the original wheels and the chassis is glued to the original car. Â
Â
Being plastic bodied, I used a drill bit by hand to remove the rivet head and separate the parts. Â carefully using a utility knife and small screw driver I opened the crimps and removed the axles from the chassis. With the axles out I glued the car back together. Â Glued the chassis print to the bottom of the car and let it dry. Â Then I glued the axles into the bottom of the chassis print. (I used Gorilla clear glue gel) Â It sticks things together well.
Â
The tires fit ½" diameter wheels and have an OD of ¾".  The wheel base was lengthened slightly so the wheels lined up with the fenders.
Â
I included the original solidworks files and step files.
Â
Happy moding
