Summary

Brighten Up Your Dark Hours

With this funny little lamp that seems to be bored hanging on the outlet and want to unplug himself

Perfect gift for X-mas or sinterklaas.

Easy to print and make if you feel comfortable to fit an electrical cord to a E27 socket.

All you need to assemble is super and hot glue.. Please scrol down for the instructions.

What you need for this project:

  • One E27 Socket with a maximum radius of 40mm
  • 30cm of electrical wire
  • WARNING. Only use LED bulb.  All others wil be TO HOT for PLA and dangerous to touch!
  • One outlet plug. (Be sure you know what you doing working with HIGH VOLTAGE)
  • Maybe you want to ad a switch. (I like it without and simply unscrew the bulb a bit.)
  • One tie-rips to fix the cord.
  • Your perfectly printed parts

Post-Printing

Assembling

            

Print 2 legs and 2 arms, the body and the hold on thing.
Attach the electrical cord to the plug and guide the cord according the picture below.
Attach the E27 socket and the tie-rip at the right position.
Apply some hot glue on the socket and pull it in. Let it cool.
Attach the arms and legs, adjust them the way you want it to look and fix it all with a super glue.

Plug it in the wall outlet and be amazed at what you just have created!

                

            

What you need and how to prepare the cord

                

            

The Tie-rip is to prevent the cord to be ripped out. The position is 11 cm from the top of the socket.

                

            

Apply some hot glue to fix the socket in the body and pull it in. 

                

            

Print orientation. If your printer is good with overhangs you don't need supports...
