Description
This model is a simple, robust ball and socket joint designed to provide a freely adjustable fixing point for a wide range of 3D printed applications. The joint consists of a spherical ball mounted on a flat base and a flexible, slotted socket that securely captures the ball while still allowing smooth articulation.
The geometry has been intentionally designed so the part can be scaled to virtually any size in your slicer while remaining fully functional, making it ideal for prototyping, custom fixtures, articulated mounts, and adjustable positioning systems.
The slotted socket allows the ball to be pressed in after printing, creating a snug, reliable fit without the need for screws, springs, or additional hardware.
Simply press the ball into the socket by hand. The flexible socket fingers will open slightly and retain the ball, allowing controlled movement once assembled.
