Description

Turn your Dyson into a high-powered vacuum sealer for reusable zip bags!

I wanted a better way to store my filament without buying expensive, dedicated vacuum bags or struggling with those manual hand pumps. I designed this nozzle so I could use standard, affordable, reusable Ziploc bags and get a professional-grade seal using the power of my Dyson. It’s faster, tighter, and saves your arms from a workout!

 

Updates Log:

  • V2 Update – Airflow Optimization
    • Fix: Added calibrated bleed holes to the internal chamber to prevent vacuum stalling
    • Performance: Suction remains strong while allowing constant airflow to the motor.
    • Retrospective Fix: If you have already printed V1, you can avoid a reprint by drilling two 2.5mm holes and one 2mm hole (Imperial use three 3/32 holes) into the bottom plate.

  • Note: For best results, use Medium/Eco mode.

Features

  • OEM Look and Feel Latching Button - Snaps securely into your vacuum and releases effortlessly
  • Constant-Stress Tapered Leaf Spring - Button's "leaf spring" was designed with a calculated taper. This creates a constant-stress beam distributing the load evenly to prevent localized fatigue and snapping
  • Integrated Mechanical Bottom Stop - Button was design to include a physical back-stop. This prevents over-deflection and stress, a common failure point in other 3D-printed Dyson tools
  • Calibrated Bleed Holes - Added the minimal required bleeding to prevent stalling the vacuum while maximizing suction. (Drilled out various sizes into V1 to find the sweet-spot)
  • Tested for Longevity - Stress-tested for 5,000+ cycles with zero signs of fatigue or mechanical failure when printed in Matte PLA (The weakest filament type I had)
  • Enclosed Vacuum Chamber - Button mechanism is fully enclosed. This eliminates suction loss through the button gap
  • Multi-Purpose Utility - Store filament, prepare a set of emergency close, maximize space during travel, etc.

  • Filament Type: PETG recommended however it has been tested without issue with PLA

Usage Guide

Dyson Nozzle for Sealing Reusable Zip Bag was designed to work like your original Dyson accessories. Simply insert the nozzle until it clicks to install. Depress the button and pull the nozzle out to remove. 

 

To prevent the bag from blocking the airway, the nozzle was designed long enough to rest up against the filament. This allows the nozzle to remove all the air from the bag. When vacuuming sealing clothing, it is best to place the nozzle between layers of clothes. This completely eliminated the risk of the bag blocking the air way and maximizes the vacuum.
