Description
Two years after the release of the first version exclusively here at Makerworld, the SKÅDIS mount for this particular device is still yet to be found elsewhere. And considering the popularity of this hub in the market, I decided to revamp the original model to improve on the over all compatibility and strength. And after several iterations, here's V2!
It's clear that there is no “locking” mechanism in the standard pegboard hooks, so if you need to remove the M3 Hub from the pegboard quite occasionally (for whatever reason), the older version of the mount might be unpleasant for you because when you do that, the whole mount will get picked up as well. Although that really isn't a big deal, you could just put it back on as needed. Nevertheless, that issue is addressed in this next version! Featuring low-profile T-Clip + 2 standard pegs, this hybrid hook system will hold up your device just as a wall mount variant would.
Another stronger reasons are improved strength and compatibility. The small chamfered edges allows the model to be printed at 45-degree angle to distribute the mechanical loads or stress more evenly, which enhances the overall durability and strength of the part. (Check out this interesting case study by Stefan)
The key device latches/hooks are also refined to let them click into place, like the original mount.
