120mm Fan Spacer (Pull Config) – Optimized for Arctic Liquid Freezer III

Generic 120mm fan spacer designed to optimize airflow and acoustics in PULL configurations. By creating a small offset, it increases the effective radiator surface area and reduces turbulence noise.

Design Constraints & Compatibility

This model was specifically designed with the Arctic Liquid Freezer III in mind. The thicknesses are chosen to work with stock Arctic screws:

  • TPU Version (3.5mm): Flexible, superior vibration damping and sealing.
  • ABS Version (2.5mm): Rigid, high heat resistance.

Note: If using with other AIO brands, always verify your screw length and thread type before installation.

Technical Background & Inspiration

The design is based on concepts discussed by JayzTwoCents and performance testing from Optimum’s video on Noctua’s spacer concept: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztOZesVGIVo. This specific version focuses on the pull configuration based on community feedback.

Material Warning (Critical)

  • Use TPU or ABS only.
  • Do NOT use PLA or PETG. These materials will deform over time in the warm environment of a PC radiator.

Usage

  1. Mount the spacer between the radiator and the fan in pull mode.
  2. Ensure screws have sufficient thread engagement.
  3. Verify temperatures and noise levels under load.
