⚙️ Print Settings (Important!)
To ensure the spring mechanism works perfectly and lasts a long time, please follow these recommendations:
Material: PLA works great, but PETG or PLA+ is recommended for the spring component for better durability and elasticity over time.
Layer Height: 0.20mm (Standard) works perfectly.
Infill: 15-20% Grid or Gyroid.
Walls/Perimeters: 3 Walls are recommended to give the spring and latch strength.
Supports: Small support incorporated in the latch design - After printing simply just snap it of using a pry tool or finger nail.
Assembly: Insert the spring into the spring frame by placing the top peg of the spring into the hole in the frame, then snap the spring into place (see video in the end of description).
🎨 Aesthetic Suggestions
This design looks amazing in dual colors!
Try printing the lid in a contrasting color to the body.
Adding text into the box in the slicer makes it stand out and feel more personal.
Silk filaments give the box a premium, metallic look. Please note that some silk filaments have poor layer adhesion, which may cause the locking mechanism to snap.
Matte PLA hides layer lines beautifully and gives it a modern product feel. Please note that some matte filaments have poor layer adhesion, which may cause the locking mechanism to snap.
