Hexa Spike Container

The Hexa Spike Cup is a versatile, multi-purpose container designed in Onshape and optimized for clean, support-free 3D printing. Its repeating hexagonal spike pattern creates a bold geometric look while remaining practical and easy to print.

This model works great as:

• ✏️ Pencil or pen holder
• 🌱 Small vase or planter (use a liner for water)
• 🗂 Desk organizer or utility cup

The straight cylindrical interior maximizes usable space, while the textured exterior adds grip and visual interest. A thick base provides stability, making it suitable for everyday use on a desk, shelf, or workbench.

The   ORANGE PRINT is actual size while the gray was scaled down to test print.  

Customization & Scaling

The design can be easily scaled in your slicer to fit the size you need without affecting print quality. Experiment with different filaments, colors, and finishes—such as matte, silk, or gradient filaments—to really highlight the hexagonal spike pattern and match your style or workspace.

Print Recommendations

• Material: PLA, PETG, or ABS
• Layer Height: 0.2 mm (0.28 mm for faster prints)
• Infill: 10–20%
• Walls: 2–3 perimeters
• Supports: Not required

Notes

• For use as a vase, add a waterproof liner or seal the inside.
• Not recommended for food use unless printed and finished with food-safe materials.
