Description
A Roman-Inspired Modular Vacuum Cleaner System
This project reimagines a portable vacuum cleaner through the lens of classical Roman architecture.
Inspired by ancient columns and the Colosseum, the design combines functional engineering, modular construction, and a strong visual identity into a unique, fully 3D-printable system.
The main vacuum body is designed as a Roman column, where architectural elements are not only decorative but also functional, housing the internal components and dust chamber in a clear, structured way.
Complementing the vacuum is a Colosseum-inspired nozzle station, which stores three interchangeable nozzles vertically, similar to columns standing in an arena.
When not in use, the vacuum cleaner and nozzle station also function as a decorative design piece, making it suitable for a desk, shelf, or workshop space. The goal was to create an object that looks intentional and refined even when standing idle.
The model is specifically designed to be compatible with the official Bambu Lab Vacuum Cleaner Kit.
The design was primarily intended to be printed in PLA Marble or plain white PLA to achieve a stone-like, classical appearance that best matches the Roman theme.
However, alternative color combinations also work very well, and feel free to experiment with different filament colors and share your own variations.
The transparent dust chamber was printed in clear PETG.
If clear filament is not available, this part can also be printed in any contrasting or matching color, depending on personal preference.
The different vacuum nozzles feature integrated cutouts for D4×2 mm round magnets, allowing magnetic attachment.
Please note that the Bambu Lab Vacuum Cleaner Kit does not include enough magnets to populate all magnetic connections.
If full magnetic functionality is desired across all nozzles and connection points, additional D4×2 mm round magnets must be purchased separately.
During assembly, careful attention must be paid to magnet polarity to ensure proper alignment and secure connections.
