Description
Hello!
I would like to introduce my new JCB 8330 tractor model in 1:24 scale.
Why this tractor?
The JCB 8330 is the fastest mass-produced tractor, so my nephew was very eager to have it in his collection. It combines classic British engineering with impressive power and modern design, making the model both striking and realistic.
Additional elements
Along with this model, I also created the Horsch seeder, which is available on my MakerWorld profile. Together, they form a complete set for display or play.
3D printing and details
I tried to make the model look as good as possible using a 0.4 mm nozzle for printing. The most challenging part to print was the FASTRAC lettering, which requires a lot of precision. In the future, I plan to provide a version of this part compatible with AMS printers.
Printing settings
If anyone is unsure, please do not change the slicer settings. For some parts, I adjusted the print speed and layer height to achieve the best possible final effect. For printing I used Sunlu PLA 2.0 filament: Black, Grey, Light Gold, White, Red.
Assembly
The model is easy to assemble but requires a bit of patience, especially when gluing small details like logos or lettering. Some parts require glue, while others only need screws. A detailed assembly instruction is included in the files and is also translated into English.
Summary
If everything is assembled correctly, the JCB 8330 model will be a beautiful and realistic addition to a collection or a fun set for play. It’s also a great way to combine a passion for tractors with 3D printing.
Edite: I have reduced the printing time. Previously, the printing speed was reduced, which was unnecessary.
Boost MeIf you like my JCB 8330, give it a Boost and show your support for 3D modeling! Every Boost helps me create more tractors and accessories.
First, remove the supports. I tried to place them in areas that are not visible.
For assembly, you will need M2.5 screws with lengths of 10 mm and 12 mm, as well as glue.
Use glue in places where there are no screws; however, where the parts fit tightly together, glue is not necessary.
1. Assemble the jack and the rear axle.
2. Install the front three-point hitch (front TUZ) and the front axle.
3. Glue the hood in place.
4.Now comes the most difficult step, which requires a lot of patience. Glue the FASTRAC lettering on both sides.
5. Glue the headlights and the smaller JCB logo into place.
6.Now it’s time to install the fender.
7.Now screw on the rear fenders and glue them if necessary.
8.Screw on the cab and the interior.
9.Glue the seats in place.
10.Now it’s time for the roof. It should fit snugly, and it’s better not to glue it if the tractor is going to be used for play (it’s always easier to replace parts).
11.Glue the JCB logo, the rear lights, the lights on the cab, and the letters J C B.
12.Screw on the wheels and put on the tires. Glue them if necessary.
If everything is okay, the model should now be fully assembled.
