Description
Some users told me that there are razor blades slightly bigger than the ones i used for this model. To catch that i added 4 more versions for larger blades. The print profile names name gives the increase in blade size by 0.3, 0.5, 0.6 and 0.9 mm.
Hey makers! Here's a simple, eco-friendly 3D printed tool I designed to give your car's windshield wiper blades a second (or third!) life. I call it the "Wiper Blade Cutter." Instead of tossing out worn-out wipers, this gadget lets you trim off the frayed top edge of the rubber blade, exposing a fresh section underneath. It's a quick hack that can extend the usability of your wipers by 2-3 times, saving you money and reducing waste.
The tool consists of two 3D printed parts that snap together around a standard double-edge razor blade (like those old-school Wilkinson Sword ones). Once assembled:
It's super straightforward—no fancy tools needed beyond your 3D printer and a used razor blade you might already have lying around. This upcycles those dull razors into something useful, turning potential trash into a practical fix!
I've included 3mf files for the two main parts. Test it on an old wiper first to get the hang of it. If you print and use this, I'd love to hear how it works for you—share your makes!
This model is free for personal use. Happy printing and safe driving! 🚗💨
