Description
Originally made to hold a saw blade, this model will generate a handle that can now hold many blades. Anything that has a rectangular, cylindrical or hexagonal shape, custom sizing, angle, offsets. Let me know if you need a different shape, perhaps I can help. You can adjust the length, width, thickness, and overall shape of the handle, and angle of the blade. Optional lanyard, a paracord or a keyring can be included. You can choose the location of up to 3 screws of up to 3 types (counter sunk, hex nut, furniture screw).
For grip, print with fuzzy skin and optionally leave the top layer off, so the infill pattern is exposed. Gyroid is a good choice, especially a double or tripple line infill.
PETG will fail more gracefully, but it's also more flexible. PLA on the other hand will hold the blad more firmly, but will crack under higher forces, failing instantaneously. Compound materials with glass or carbon fiber would be fantastic, but PLA works just fine for normal use.
If you can choose, use furniture screws. These guys, with a 8mm head diameter and a 5 mm bus diameter, the screw is smaller - about 3mm.
The default print profiles take Bosh Multi-Saw blades, these look like normal reciprocating saw blades, but they are not the same! I ordered the wrong ones, which is why this models exists in the first place 😂 See compatible blades below.
Boost MeDesigns like this take a lot of time to develop and many test prints to make something that works for you the first time, consider boosting this model!
