🚀 Mechanical Rocket Silo Book Nook

Mechanical Rocket Silo Book Nook presents a vertical cross-section of an underground rocket silo, featuring a rocket mounted on an extendable platform driven by a screw mechanism. The platform is operated by rotating a dedicated key. The structure is designed in a modular way, with clearly separated levels. The project is inspired by industrial underground architecture, raw mechanical design, and retro-futuristic aesthetics.

A complete parts list with detailed illustrations is available in the gallery.

3c. Install Railing A ×2 and Railing C.

4. Connect Base Plate to Launch Base.
5. Connect Base Plate to Level 0.
6. Assemble the pipe segment: slide Pipe Seg Outer onto the Pipe Axis, then add 8× Pipe Seg Inner, and finish with Pipe Seg Outer. You may glue the last element.

7. Install the segmented pipe and Pipe Red in the prepared location in Level 0. Make sure the rectangular anti-rotation tab on the Pipe Axis is properly seated in the socket.
8. Connect Level 0 to Level 1.
9. Slide the Ladder into the floor opening of Level 1.

10. Connect Level 1 to Level 2.
11. Slide the Ladder into the floor opening of Level 2.
12. From the bottom of the Base Plate, insert the Screw through the entire height of the structure.

13. Glue the Warning Strip in the prepared location on the Launch Platform, then thread the Launch Platform onto the screw.
14. Connect Level 2 to Level 3.
15. Slide the Ladder into the floor opening of Level 3.

16. Assemble the rocket by connecting the Rocket Body to the Rocket Engine.
17. Mount the rocket onto the Launch Platform.
18. Install the Silo Hatch Covers into the sockets of the Top Plate.

19. Assemble the hatch: connect the Silo Hatch to the Silo Hatch Hinge using the Silo Hatch Pins. You may use a small amount of glue to secure the pin heads to the cover. Check that the hatch moves freely.
20. Seat the Silo Hatch Hinge in the socket of the Top Plate.
21. Flip the Top Plate over. Install the longer Crane Rail.

22. Slide in the Winch. Install the second Crane Rail. You may glue the Winch or leave it movable. Be careful when flipping the Top Plate to avoid damaging the Winch.
23. Connect the Top Plate to Level 3.
24. Insert the Lock Screw Top into the socket in the Top Plate so that the tab engages with the screw. The Screw together with the Lock Screw Top must rotate freely.

25. Connect the Key Handle to the Key Core.
26. Insert the assembled key into the Lock Screw Top to operate the mechanism.
27. Open the hatch and test the mechanism. Turning counterclockwise moves the Launch Platform upward; turning clockwise moves the Launch Platform downward.

Assembly complete. Ready for launch 🚀
