Description
Are they friendly? Wicked? Mischievous? You decide!
Inspired by a ceramic succulent pot that captivated me when I first saw it years ago, I've recreated this Claw Monster planter in PLA. That's the hand painted original in amongst the prints, in olive green. I can't find much info about it online, so if you know anything about the original artist, please share in the comments. For now, I've had a lot of fun recreating and adding to this design.
GLUE - This will require some glue for assembly… I've added pins to the legs and the rest of the parts press fit lightly. But I have been using glue and this model will REQUIRE glue (superglue gel is working great so far), at least for the legs.
If you're comfortable with that, this print is a lot of fun. Once I realized I didn't actually own any succulents, it occurred to me to make a cap for the top of the head. Then the horns & hats all made perfect sense. The walls of the sphere are fairly thin, so an LED tea light gives them a warm glow, even with the cap on. You won't need an AMS unless you want to print the striped legs or two color caps. The pumpkin stem, top hat and witches' hat can be printed without AMS (they press fit firmly on one of the caps), and I've included examples of the solid color, non-AMS legs.
There are endless color combinations - You can mix and match to your hearts' content. Please post any fun color combinations!
If you have any ideas or requests for headwear or variations, let me know! I'm a weekend warrior designing exclusively in TinkerCAD so forgive me if replies take a little while but I like getting feedback and I update my designs from time to time. And if you spotted the Terminator version, that's a work in progress, it isn't quite up to my assembly standards at this time but I'll post it when it's ready.
If you like my work, I always appreciate a rating or a boost. Thanks and happy printing!
