Description
Here is an old design that I forgot to share, this model is a clip to attach the PTFE tube on the cable chain of the P2S.
The P2S has a specific cable chain, and most of the previous clips does not transfer well on this printer so a new concept was needed.
I wanted a clip that can be installed and removed without disconnecting the PTFE tube, so this design is opened (hence the “C-Clip” name)
It is installed inside the cable chain, which does not interfere with its flexibility. A small but very effective tab has been added to lock the C-Clip in place (the cable chain has some small notch) with a satisfying click!
The C-Clip put the PTFE tube on the side of the cable chain, which reduce the noise (no interference with the RHS edge of the chassis). It also prevents the PTFE tube to rub on the top glass panel.
Installation is simple, yet the fit is tight and safe :
IMPORTANT : DO NOT USE THE FACTORY INSTALLED CLIP ANYMORE (you can also remove it completely, as I did)
I suggest the installation of 3 clips, which is sufficient to held the PTFE tube without too much constraint on it.
Here is a location proposal :
If you still have contact between the PTFE tube and the glass panel, have a look at the length of the PTFE tube : mine was 10mm too long. Check that you can still reach the extreme edges of the build plate before cutting it!
I have used PETG-HF, ABS and ASA for this model, I do not think that PLA can remain safely attached during long prints when the temperature can rise a bit on this higher portion of the printer.
28/01/2026 update : a higher version has been added as requested by users, which add +7mm in height. you can use it at the last position, or at the 3 proposed location.
