Description
Here is my custom Art Deco Star design, in various sizes.
A friend of mine had a similar product wish listed for Christmas from Etsy, but I felt like I could improve on the design and make them myself. Sharing here for others. Makes a great and easy gift for room decor! I recommend the “L” size to start with.
SIZES (measured longest tip-tip):
1. Thumbtack (Only L and XL sizes)
The larger two sizes (L and XL) have holes in the back which should fit around most thumbtacks (the hole is too large for the M, S, and XS stars).
2. Two sided adhesive tape ~(20 mm x 20 mm x 1 mm)
There is a small cutout square for adding 3M adhesive or similar to the back. Trim your 3M tape or similar down to size, and stick into the square, then onto the wall.
3. Small Nail (Requires customization)
Sometimes filament doesn't stick to adhesives well, so for a third option you can add a negative object > cylinder in Bambu Studio to cut a small hole out of the back, to hang on a small nail. I did not model this in because I'm not sure what size would be best for everyone, so I will leave it up to each person to tweak for their needs. If a size seems like a standard popular request, I can model and add to the print files.
I modelled this star entirely in Blender, using as many modifiers as possible to allow future tweaks and variations.
My modifier stack allows me to adjust just a few vertices to control the full mesh. Booleans create the cutouts, and mirror modifiers simplify the modelling process. The full stack is: Mirror, Solidify, Bevel, and then 3x Booleans.
