The Purge Brick: The "Piggy Bank" for Filament Waste
I hate throwing away printer purge, support trees, and failed prints, but I also didn't want to buy expensive recycling gear to re-melt them. So, I designed these Fillable Purge Bricks.
The concept is simple: Print a brick, put it near your 3d printer, and treat it like a piggy bank for your plastic waste. Just drop your poop loops and support scraps in the funnel as you print. No melting, no fumes, no hassle.
Why print this?
- Low-Effort Upcycling: No need to sort and melt your plastics! Mix PLA, PETG, ABS, and others together. Just chop up your waste and pour it in.
- It gets HEAVY: If you want to build sturdy furniture (stools, monitor stands), you can mix your plastic waste with sand, plaster, or resin. A single filled 4x2 block can easily weigh over 500g!
- Modular Furniture: I’ve included a Flat Top Blocks so you can stack them and create a smooth, usable surface for monitor risers or stands.
Included Files:
- Bricks (2x2, 4x2, 6x2)
- Threaded Plug to close the hole, use a coin to screw it in.
- Funnel (Optional: for easy filling)
- Flat Top Block
I’d love to see what you build with these! Post images if you did something cool.
