IKEA STRÅLA lamp shade

I wanted to keep using the IKEA STRÅLA lamp outside of the Christmas season. The original setup uses a cardboard, star-shaped shade that’s very holiday-specific, so I removed that entirely and designed a new lampshade to replace it.

This version has a closed bottom to give the light a more intentional, upward-projected look, creating a soft, ambient glow that feels clean and modern rather than seasonal.

The shade is designed to fit directly onto the STRÅLA lamp base with no modifications. Just remove the original cardboard star and drop this on in its place.

It turns a once-a-year decoration into a lamp you can actually leave out all year.
