This is a high-fidelity 3D print of an Ice Dragon, heavily inspired by the iconic draconic aesthetics of World of Warcraft. Designed to capture a menacing, sharp-edged look, this model features intricate plate armor-like scales and expansive wings.
Print Settings & Recommendations
To achieve the results seen in the photos, I used a highly optimized profile for a 0.4mm nozzle to balance print speed with fine detail.
- Filament: PLA Basic (Black)
- Layer Height: 0.12mm (High Quality / Optimal)
- Infill: 15% (Grid or Gyroid recommended for stability)
- Nozzle: 0.4mm
- Supports: Required for the wings and chin area (Tree supports recommended for easier removal and cleaner surface finish).
Model Features
- Sharp Geometry: The 0.12mm layer height brings out the crisp edges of the "ice" shards and facial features.
- Optimized for Display: Even in a single color like Black PLA, the shadows caught by the faceted geometry create a dynamic, armored look.
- Sturdy Build: At 15% infill, the model feels solid while remaining light enough for the wing span to be structurally sound.
Tip: If you want a more "frozen" look, this model also looks incredible in Translucent Blue or Marble PLA!
