Solara – 3D Printed Ambient Lamp

Solara is a decorative ambient lamp designed to bring a warm and inviting atmosphere to any interior. Its soft, flowing geometry and sculptural form create an elegant light diffusion that feels both modern and cozy.

The lamp is designed to work with a standard E27 light bulb socket, making it compatible with a wide range of bulbs. For the best visual result, a warm white LED bulb is recommended. The light source remains centered and unobstructed, allowing the glow to spread evenly throughout the shade.

The model is 3D printed in two separate parts:

• The upper shade was originally designed and tested in translucent orange PETG, which creates a rich, warm glow when illuminated.
• The lower part serves as a sturdy base and reinforces the flowing character of the design.

🎨 Filament Flexibility

Although translucent PETG gives the lamp its signature glowing effect, This lamp can be printed in almost any filament type. PLA, PETG, ABS, or other materials all work, whether translucent, semi-transparent, or fully opaque. Using opaque filament will turn Solara into a more sculptural lamp with subtle light accents instead of full diffusion, feel free to experiment.

🔥 Heat & Safety

The lamp is safe to use with bulbs that may become warm. The 3D printed parts do not touch the bulb, allowing heat to dissipate properly. When combined with an LED E27 bulb, temperatures stay well within safe limits.

• Printed in 2 parts
• No supports required (depending on printer settings)
• Designed with both aesthetics and practicality in mind
• the original lamp (as shown in picture) was printed with a 0.6mm nozzle

Solara works perfectly as ambient lighting on a desk, nightstand, or in a cozy corner. During the day it acts as a sculptural design object, and at night it transforms into a warm, glowing centerpiece.
