This project is a compact, multifunctional portable vacuum cleaner designed around Bambu Lab's Maker Supply Handheld Vacuum Cleaner Kit. Made with compactness, reliability and real-world practical versatility in mind, this design combines vacuuming, blowing, dusting, and inflating into a single travel friendly device.
The vacuum's form factor is intentionally compact and small enough even fit back into the original parts kit box, making it ideal for travel, storage, or within toolkits. Furthermore, the compact vacuum holder saves desk space whilst ensuring your desk is neatly organised. Despite its size, the design is feature packed with real-world utility for cleaning 3D printers, keyboards, PCs, cars, and more.

Key Features
Tool-free integrated switching between vacuum mode and blower mode
Front vacuum canister attaches with a hybrid mechanical and magnetic connection, allowing for instant removal whilst maintaining mechanical stability.
Fully contained dust canister with dust valve ensures no mess upon removal.
Rotating rear bezel transforms the exhaust from a diffused airflow into a concentrated blower, unlocking powerful dusting and inflation capabilities.
This allows the device to quickly switch from:
Vacuuming dust and filament debris
Compressing of clothes in vacuum bags without additional nozzles (not suitable for vacuum bag with sticker type valves)
Blowing out dust and debris out from tight spaces
Inflating air beds or bags
Compact reversible trigger handle style design
Intuitive device usage regardless of vacuum or blower mode allowing for more precise operation, even in tight spaces. No awkward handling of the device when in either modes.
Thumb trigger operation for reduced accidental button presses when casually vacuuming. Finger trigger operation for quick rapid control when blowing.
LED light indicators for device status
Dedicated light guides for both battery and status indicators. Know when the battery is fully charged, or when the device indicates low power.
Quick one turn dust disposal
Quickly dispose of dust with a single turn of the canister. Secure bayonet connection allows for quick reliable use without the worries of accidental mishaps from magnets disconnecting or troublesome screw threads.
Optimised motor exhaust
Enhanced 360° exhaust diffusion to deliver a smoother, more evenly dispersed airflow during vacuuming, reducing exhaust air speed and preventing strong blasts of air towards yourself.
Lower exhaust turbulence to reduce motor noise in both vacuum and blower modes, resulting in a quieter, more comfortable user experience.
Dual attachment interface for a modular and expandable ecosystem
Magnetic connection allows for fast, intuitive swaps
Reversible mechanical bayonet mount for secure reliable attachments for either vacuum or blower mode
This dual connection system enables a range of extra accessories, including:
Precision pointed nozzle for precise dusting of keyboard and electronics, or inflation/deflation of items
Dedicated vacuum bag adapter for compressing of clothing or travel gear (not suitable for vacuum bag with sticker type valves)
Further future project expansion with more nozzles or new dust canister types
Optimised design for 3D printing
Support free printing with minimal part clean up needed (some parts have brims that need to be removed)
Assembly with modular construction and thought-out cable management
Fully compatible to be printed on the A1 Mini

Device Usage
Powering The Device
Long press the power button to turn on the device. The LED indicator will light up when turning on. Short press the power button to change motor speed. Long press the power button again to turn off the device. When in use, the LED will blink when the battery level is low.
Charging The Device
Connect a USB C charging cable to the bottom, and the LED at the bottom will light up to indicate active charging. The LED will turn off when charging is complete.
Vacuuming Dust
Please connect the whole dust canister unit to the front of the device, ensuring that the canister has a filter. Do not vacuum debris without a filter. In vacuum mode, the device can be used standalone but a long reach nozzle can be attached to the front of the canister for vacuuming hard to reach areas, or the wide nozzle can be used to vacuum a wider area. Please keep a firm counter clockwise force when pulling the nozzles off of the canister. To dispose of the vacuumed dust and debris, firmly twist the canister clockwise to detach it from the device, and anti-clockwise to reattach it. To remove the whole dust canister unit from the device, twist clockwise slightly before pulling to detach from the magnets.
Compressing Vacuum Bags
Remove the whole dust canister unit from the front to expose the front of the motor. Simply covering the bag's valve with the front of the device will allow for the compression of vacuum bags. Not suitable for vacuum bags with sticker valves.
Blowing Dust or Debris
Remove the whole dust canister, rotate the rear bezel to blower mode and flip the device so that the back is pointing at the area that you would want to blow. The device can be operated with your trigger finger to blast debris or dust in hard to reach areas.
Inflating Air Beds
Remove the whole dust canister, rotate the rear bezel to blower mode and flip the device so that the back nozzle is pressed against the opening of the air bed. Turn on the device and it'll inflate the air bed.
Designer Notes
Please note that the design is still in early stages of development and will require additional time to complete extensive design testing and real-world reliability testing. Although the design functions as intended, there is a high probability of design changes to ensure the core function of the design is reliable and up to a professional standard. Design changes will typically be mechanical changes or print optimisation changes. So please print with caution that some parts may be changed in the future. Once the core function is satisfactory, future project plans will be added.

Design Updates
27/02/2026 - Adjusted the hole sizing for screws. Shifted the switch position for better clearance. Updated the handle and button design for cleaner printing and better fit. Fixed a design error with the magnet press. Added a marker on the motor housing and canister for visual alignment. Adjusted the fit of the filter bracket.
20/01/2026 - Updated the design for the integrated blower and rear motor bracket for an improvement in reduced motor noise and better air diffusion from the rear.
