Kumiko Tower Lamp - LED Kit 001

Kumiko Tower Lamp, Modular Stackable LED Lamp

The Kumiko Tower Lamp is a modular 3D-printed lamp inspired by traditional Japanese Kumiko woodworking patterns. It is the fifth design in my Kumiko panel series, which explores different lamp forms using the same interchangeable Kumiko panel system. The lamp is built from stackable frames, interchangeable panel inserts, and internal light diffusers. Height, pattern selection, and light character can be tuned by adding more layers or mixing panel variants.

Each layer contains:
- 1 × Frame (74 mm)
- 8 × Kumiko panels
- 1 × Diffuser (internal)
No tools or adhesives are required.

Lighting
Designed specifically for the Bambu Lab LED Kit 001.
The LED module drops into the base and rests in place.
Opening diameter: 60 mm

Diffusers
All diffusers are identical except for the Top Diffuser, which has a 3-layer solid bottom to close the lamp and emit upward light.
Printing:
- Material: white PLA
- Mode: vase/spiral mode
- No supports

Kumiko Panels (6 designs + slim variants)
Six Kumiko panel patterns are included:
-Asanoha
-Kagome
-Mikado
-Senbon
-Shippo
-Shokko

Panel dimensions: 69.7 × 40 × 3 mm

Two variants per pattern:
- Standard (3 mm thick) — balanced diffusion and structure
- Slim (1.5 mm thick) — half-thickness version allowing more sideways light spill
Both versions slide into the frame from the top and can be freely mixed.

Frame Connections
Frames connect with simple round pin-and-socket joints for fast stacking.
Connector pins:
- Diameter: 4 mm
- Height: 4.5 mm
Pins are filleted to reduce stress and allow careful disassembly without snapping.

Base Options
Two interchangeable bases are included:
Flat Base (6 mm) - lamp sits flush on surface
Elevated Base (25 mm) - allows under-glow and a floating appearance
Elevated Base requires supports.

- Outer diameter: 132 mm
- Frame height: 74 mm
- Top Frame height: 6 mm
- Elevated Base height: 25 mm
- Flat Base height: 6 mm
Example shown in photos:
3 frames + Top Frame + Elevated Base = 253 mm total height

Assembly Instructions
1. Choose a base and insert the LED Kit 001 into the center opening, routing the cable correctly.
2. Insert connector pins into at least 4 of the 8 sockets on the base (more = stiffer).
3. Press the first frame onto the base.
4. Insert Kumiko panels from the top of the frame.
5. Place a diffuser in the center of the frame.
6. Repeat steps 3–5 for as many layers as desired.
7. On the top layer, install a Top Diffuser instead of a standard diffuser.
8. Snap the Top Frame onto the top to close the lamp.

Print Guidelines
- Material: PLA recommended for all parts
- Diffusers: white PLA in vase/spiral mode
- Supports: only needed for Elevated Base
- Arachne wall mode recommended for panel crispness
- No hardware required except LED lamp Kit MH001
