Description
I wanted a 3D-printed WLED floor lamp that throws smooth, colourful light onto the wall behind it. The designs I found on MakerWorld looked great, but at the height I wanted (around 160cm) they weren’t quite rigid enough to feel properly solid—so I designed my own.
The lamp is built from:
Each connection uses small alignment nubs so the sections slot together the right way and stay consistently oriented as you build upward.
This design is made for WLED, which means you get a ridiculous amount of lighting control without any custom coding. Once your LEDs are connected, you can control everything from the WLED app / web interface over Wi-Fi:
I’ve been using a GLEDOPTO WLED controller, but you can use any WLED-capable controller—the base has plenty of space for wiring and cable management.
The pole includes a 3D-printed diffuser section designed to be printed in translucent PETG, which softens the LEDs and gives a nicer, more even glow instead of harsh points of light.
This power adapter was not powerful enough to power the strips fully. Also the power cable was not fantastic quality, so I will be upgrading to a more ideal power supply in the future with proper wiring from inside a cabinet.
